About the iPhone 16

The iPhone 16 came out in September 2024 and is the first standard iPhone built for Apple Intelligence. It runs the A18 chip with 8 GB of RAM, so it gets the new Siri, writing tools and Image Playground on iOS 27, the same as the Pro models. It also picked up two buttons from the Pro line: the Action button on the left, and the new Camera Control on the right, a touch-sensitive button that opens the camera, zooms and shoots.

The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display has the Dynamic Island and peaks at 2000 nits outdoors. It is a 60 Hz screen; ProMotion came to the standard model a year later with the 17. The cameras are now stacked vertically: a 48 MP Fusion main camera with 2x optical-quality zoom, and a 12 MP ultra wide that now does macro. Spatial photos and videos work with Vision Pro.

Battery is 3,561 mAh, rated for up to 22 hours of video, and MagSafe charging went up to 25 W. It has USB-C, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, IP68 and the second-gen Ultra Wideband chip. The UAE and international model A3286 has a nano-SIM tray plus eSIM. Colours are Black, White, Pink, Teal and Ultramarine.

Still worth buying in 2026?

Yes, and for a lot of people it is the right answer. The iPhone 16 is the cheapest iPhone with Apple Intelligence, it has the Action button and Camera Control, and the A18 chip is quick enough that it will feel fast for years. It runs iOS 27.

The iPhone 17 improved on it with a 120 Hz screen, a 48 MP ultra wide, an 18 MP front camera and 256 GB as the base storage. Those are real upgrades, but the 17 is still close to its new price. Renewed, the 16 opens up a proper gap.

It suits anyone moving up from an iPhone 12, 13 or 14 who wants the AI features and a modern camera in a compact phone. If you really want 120 Hz, go for the 17 or a renewed 16 Pro.

Availability in the UAE

The iPhone 16 has now dropped out of Apple's UAE line-up, with the iPhone 17 and 17e taking its place at the same prices. Retail stock is thin, and prices on the few new units left have not fallen much because Apple never discounted it.

The iPhone 16 Pro adds a 6.3-inch 120 Hz Always-On screen, a 5x telephoto, a 48 MP ultra wide, a titanium frame, USB 3 speeds and 4K 120 fps video. If you take a lot of photos or want the smoother screen, the Pro is worth the step up.

The iPhone 17 gets a 6.3-inch 120 Hz screen, a 48 MP ultra wide, the 18 MP Center Stage front camera and up to 30 hours of video. The 16 keeps a 60 Hz screen. If the price gap is small, take the 17; if it is not, the 16 does almost everything the same.

No, the iPhone 16 has a 60 Hz screen. ProMotion 120 Hz is on the 16 Pro and came to the standard model with the iPhone 17. The 16 screen is still sharp and very bright at up to 2000 nits.

How is the battery life on the iPhone 16?

Apple rates it at up to 22 hours of video, two hours more than the 15, and it charges faster over MagSafe (25 W). Every renewed iPhone 16 at Refab has 90% or better battery health.

Should I buy the iPhone 16 or the iPhone 17?

The 17 has a 120 Hz screen, better ultra wide and front cameras, and starts at 256 GB. Buy it if you can afford the gap. Buy the 16 if you want the same chip family and Apple Intelligence at a lower price.

How fast is delivery in the UAE?

Delivery is free anywhere in the UAE. In Dubai it usually arrives within one day, sometimes the same day if you order early. For Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates, allow up to four days.

Can I return the phone if I change my mind?

Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to return it. Returns are not free: there is an AED 100 return fee, which covers collection and re-inspection. The phone needs to come back in the same condition, with everything that was in the box.

What does the 18-month warranty cover?

Our 18-month warranty covers hardware faults that show up in normal use, for example a speaker, camera or charging port that stops working. It does not cover physical damage like a cracked screen, or liquid damage. It is the longest warranty on renewed iPhones in the UAE, and six months longer than Apple's own one-year cover on a new phone.

What does Excellent Grade mean at Refab?

It is the only condition we sell. Excellent Grade means no visible scratches on the screen or body when you hold the phone normally, an original Apple screen, Face ID and every button working, and battery health of 90% or more. If a phone does not meet that, we do not list it.
